Start of the contest “Take pictures of science!”

The contest “Take off Science!” Has started!
Open spectators vote for the second season of the contest “Take pictures of science!”. Visitors to the project site will have to choose the winners in three categories: “Experiment”, “Science” and “Opening”.

“Take pictures of science!” Is a competition of user videos aimed at videobloggers, television journalists, scientists and students interested in popularizing scientific knowledge. The project was launched by the Nauka television channel with the support of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation in 2017. In the first year of its existence, the competition attracted more than 200 authors from six countries (Estonia, Latvia, Serbia, Ukraine, Belarus, Kazakhstan) and 67 regions of Russia.

The works for participation in the second season of the contest will be accepted until October 2. Based on the results of the audience voting, three winners in each nomination will be determined on the project site, another jury in each nomination will be selected by a jury consisting of scientific journalists and popularizers of science.

In addition to the competition of video works in the second season, “Take pictures of science!”, A photo contest was launched, which is held jointly with the Russian branch of Wikimedia. All works in the nomination “Photos” will be available for free use and will serve as illustrations for Wikipedia articles in 300 languages.

The results of the contest will be summed up on October 14 in the assembly hall of the Fundamental Library of Moscow State University within the closing ceremony of the All-Russian Science Festival NAUKA 0+, which co-organizes the competition.

The competition is supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation. In 2017, “Take pictures of science!” Was awarded a special prize in the “For fidelity to science” prize.
